LAI SKAN! 2025 — The Competition's First Year

In 2025, the LAI SKAN! children's and youth vocal competition was held for the first time, beginning its journey in an online format.

The competition welcomed 56 participants from across Latvia — soloists, duos and vocal ensembles representing different age groups.

Video performances were evaluated by a professional jury of three musicians: opera singer and vocal coach Laura Bulava, Liepāja Theatre actress and singer Everita Pjata-Gertnere, and guitarist and music producer Roberts Dinters.

Winners were selected in each age group, receiving first, second and third place diplomas and trophies. All other participants were awarded diplomas and medals in recognition of their hard work and participation.

The first LAI SKAN! competition laid the foundation for a broader vision — to create a larger musical event for children and young people, with the next step being the opportunity to meet and perform together on stage in Liepāja.
